My time at KSMU has been filled with frustration and unmet expectations. While the university charges high tuition fees, the quality of education and support for students (especially international ones) doesn’t come close to justifying the cost. To begin with, there’s barely any guidance when it comes to payment plans. You're left to figure things out on your own, which adds unnecessary stress, especially for students managing finances in a foreign country. One of the biggest letdowns has been the so-called English-language programs. The university advertises them, but the reality is very different. Most of the professors barely speak English, some don’t understand it at all. In more than one instance, I was told by teachers "You’re in Russia, you should learn Russian" which completely ignores the fact that we enrolled in programs that were supposed to be taught in English. If a university promotes English-taught courses, then it should ensure that the teaching staff can actually communicate in that language. The overall quality of education feels much lower for international students compared to local ones. Even though we pay two or three times more in tuition, the level of engagement from faculty is minimal. Academics often feel superficial, attendance is loosely tracked, coursework is light, and it’s surprisingly easy to pass even the most important subjects with minimal effort. Unfortunately, practical training at KSMU is almost nonexistent, which for medical fields like dentistry is necessary and mandatory. We rarely get the chance to work with real equipment, we are not allowed to work on patients, and many students finish their degrees without ever using basic dental tools. The university lacks materials, simulation labs, and any real opportunity to develop clinical skills. Administrative support isn’t any better. The visa department, which should help international students navigate legal requirements, has no English-speaking staff and often treats students with indifference. Getting help with essential things like registration required for legal residency becomes a confusing and stressful process. When asked for assistance, the common answer is simply, "It’s not our problem." Overall, studying at KSMU has been a stressful and disappointing experience. If you're looking for a solid education, meaningful training, and real preparation for your career, I wouldn’t recommend this university. Many of us have faced the same struggles, and it’s clear that international students are not a priority here. That said, if your only goal is to obtain a degree with minimal effort, then this might be the place—but don’t expect much beyond the paper diploma.

I did my MD from this institute in the 2005 - 2011 batch. Kazan State Medical University started its degree program in 1814 (210 years ago), making it one of the most prestigious and old universities in the Russian Federation. It is located in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan State, which was established in 1005 (almost 1020 years ago). I have loved my stay and studies in Kazan, where we were the third batch of English-medium MDs at KSMU. I wish to visit it soon as I want to revive my memories.

Преподают слабо. Из положительного только Лекционный материал сильный. К студентам Отношение отвратительное, на клинических базах могут посадить в грязном подвале или в кладовке.

الجامعة تبدو رائعة من الوهله الاولى لكن اسعارها غالية ولا يوجد سكن للطلاب في الفترة الحالية
